I
have to re-emphasize to rejuvenate our club. Club Meetings barely makes quorum.
We have to improve our attendance by inviting new members and retaining the old
ones. We have to make them actively participating in all our club’s endeavors.
We
need more individuals to contribute in our clubs commitments. It would be a
good contribution to the club if each of us would invite either old members or
new ones to join us to make our club a dynamic one. Membership growth is one of
our clubs goals. We have to bring in to our club persons who will commit and
persevere to serve.
We
always wanted to hear our club being recognized in such rotary events, we feel
proud once we hear our club contributing in such legacy projects. However, we
can be more proud if we have a bigger participation in those projects. We have
project already lined up, it is for our club members to take charge and
volunteer to the things needed to be done.
Again,
thank you for those who have been continually supporting and contributing to
the projects of our club. I give you my heartfelt gratitude.
Always
remember my friends, Life is fragile and everyone dies. We have to live up to
the purpose of our existence. Rotary brings us purpose; it is to Serve Humanity
and most of all Serve God.
Thank
you and may God Bless us always.

We
have showcased 3 projects already that we can be proud of. The Dumagat Project,
Fairview Kindergarten Monthly feeding program and the Car Decals that will
commemorate the centennial year of the Rotary Foundation.
We
still have projects in our pipeline. The next project will be another monthly
feeding program with the Dalupan Elementary School. We still have in our
schedule the Libreng pustiso and bunot that we hope to complete one in the last
quarter of the year. We decided to have three of that kind of project for the
whole rotary year.
We
still have a line-up of projects for the Dumagats but we still have to complete
the classroom/multipurpose hall. We have to do a lot of solicitation for us to
complete this project and hopefully with hard work and with a lot of prayers we
can complete this.
I
always believe that nothing in this world that is worth having comes easy, and
the projects that we are currently doing and planning will all be worthwhile in
the end.
Thank
you for those who have been continually supporting and contributing to the
projects of our club. I give you my heartfelt gratitude. Thank you and may God
Bless us always.

It
has been two weeks without any quorum. We haven’t have enough members attending
our regular meetings. It may be just a matter of coincidence that there are
more important personal or professional matters that needs attention that is reasonable.
Remember that each of us have a commitment to Rotary which we have pledge.
Disengagement or Disinterest to the causes of Rotary is unacceptable.
Our
club’s projects have been pushing through as planned. We had a successful
project from the public image committee where we presented and distributed car
stickers to commemorate the 100 years of the Rotary Foundation. It was highly
appreciated by the All Star Presidents and Governor Dwight Ramos. The Governors
Monthly Letter even featured this project.
Another
project which is spearheaded by PP Alford Alvarez is the Dumagat project. Last
October 1, 2016 we had the groundbreaking of the project. This event will start
up the construction of the Classrooms/Multi-purpose hall. During this event we
had a simple tree planting and conducted a plan for the Dumagat water system
that we plan to provide. We will conduct a medical mission for the Dumagat
tribe members as our next project.
Next
on our agenda is the conduct of the Libreng Pustiso and Bunot. We were supposed
to do this on September but were cancelled. We will plan this on October with a
minimum of 20 patients.
Thank
you for those who have been continually supporting and contributing to the
projects of our club. I give you my heartfelt gratitude. Thank you and may God
Bless us always.

“Make
your Committees work” – Club Administration Training Seminar. This was
highlighted during the seminar. This is one of the challenges of the club. Some
committee chairman has not been actively doing their part. The club must do
something radical to make the committees work.
I
plead to all members of this club to contribute individually to meet all our
committed goals and action plan. If nothing will come out of these committees
we will fail as a club. At the end of the year I suggest a year-end audit on
the performance of each committee.
Thank
you and God Bless us all.

“Empathy
has been the key for our human nature. We empathize because we feel each
other’s plight. We care because we understand their situation and we serve
because we know what they need. Rotary has broken barriers of our empathy and
has opened the opportunity to serve anyone in the world who needs True Service.
RC Biak na Bato is an Empathic Society!”
“RC
Biak na Bato will evolve into a dynamic club established by three of its
foundation, the Initiative to serve, opportunistic to serve and with sacrifice
to create greater value on its service. “
“Let
us not be trapped with the illusion of service. We should not be satisfied with
our individual contribution on our clubs goals and action plans. Illusion of
service is the overestimation of your contribution or your achievement. This
makes us satisfied with less service when there is a need to serve more.”
The
Dumagat project may be the highlight of our accomplishment for this rotary
year. We know they need our help and we know we can help. Now, it’s just a
matter of implementation of our plans for the construction and the fund
raising. We have to keep in mind the date oct 1 as our project ground breaking.
We
are now a growing club in terms of membership. We will easily meet our goals.
Let us continue inviting qualified Rotarians to ensure the future of our club
and its programs.
Thank
you and God Bless us all.

Last
week was a worthwhile week as we successfully celebrated the first Spouse night
of the Rotary Year, we had our signing with our sister club RC Dau, we had our
first feeding program and we completed the first stage of our Dumagat project,
the site visit.
We
still have to look forward and try to accomplish our goals and action plans.
There are still a lot of things to be done and we should keep on doing the
things needed. We have to always look at our individual accomplishment and
goals to serve as we have committed to our Club, District and to RI. We should never be complacent and satisfied
with our accomplishments; this is a trap that is called the illusion of
service.
Illusion
of service is the overestimation of your contribution or your achievement. This
makes us satisfied with less service when there is a need to serve more.
Finally,
we are invited by our sister club to join them in their celebration of their
charter anniversary on Nov 11, 2016, it is but right for us to return the
courtesy and join them. Thank you and God Bless us all.
All Star President Peter Laurence Valencia
